Stick To Your Guns
Comes From The Heart
Century Media
27:34 - 10 Tracks
This is fairly typical hardcore/hatebreed-core type of stuff. Nothing wrong with it at all, some hints of Agnostic Front, it’s not NYC HC, as they are from CA! The metal-ness of this is pretty good and fast, not all completely simple. It’s good stuff and worthy of airplay on the Mosh Pit!
Engel
Absolute Design
SPV
46:40 - 12 Tracks
This is mix of new metal and some death/melodic death type stuff. It’s a bit tough to put a finger on them, they aren’t just the same old same old. I’d have to say, yeah, there’s a little bit of that chugga Meshuggah thing going on (slowed down a lot), a good groove, catchy, a nice mix of harsh and clean vocals. I guess they could compare a bit to the more modern In Flames. And wait? What’s this? It’s recorded and mixed by Anders from In Flames! It’s definitely not super heavy over the top stuff, it’s a little more accessible. You’ll hear this on the Mosh Pit!
Motley Crue
“Saints of Los Angeles” (Single)
Eleven Seven
13:17 - 4 Tracks
This one song can re-affirm that there is hope in the world of Motley Crue! This song has a Dr. Feelgood vibe/sound. Yeah, the concept and lyrics might be silly, but weren’t they always? This is what the Crue should be. This song is just so damn catchy, I have been listening to it on repeat…. and why not play this on the ‘Pit!?
Aletheian
Dying Vine
Metal Blade
41:23 - 10 Tracks
This is pretty cool too…brutal, experimental, death metal, black metal, tech metal, a lot of all that metal rolled into one! There’s a little bit of “core” mixed in, with some of the guitar stuff, but really, it’s hardly fair of me to even say that… it’s really all metal! You’ll definitely hear this on the Mosh Pit!
Opeth
Watershed (Radio Sampler)
Roadrunner
34:25 - 5 Tracks
Well, this is officially the first taste of the new Opeth. 3 Tracks (2 are radio edits)… This follows up in true Opeth fashion. Great Floyd-ish slower parts, whipped right into majestic classic deathy, Opeth stuff. It’s a bit more prog and still very dynamic as Opeth proves time and time again that it’s what they do so great. Playing tracks from this is a no-brainer!
Various Artists
Candlelight Sampler
Candlelight
78:54 - 17 Tracks
Some of the best stuff Candlelight has to offer, and a lot of new bands that I haven’t heard of yet, and I’m sure you haven’t either. Bands like Martriden, In Battle, To-Mera, Starofash, Sear Bliss, Limbonic Art,Tulus, Witchcraft and more. (even a band called “Taint”!) There’s plenty of stuff to go around on this sampler, with all different genres of metal, but there’s a lot of doom and black metal on here.

Skeletons
Wednesday 13
40:20 - 11 Tracks
From the ashes of the Murderdolls, the Zombie-metal, “horror rock” are back with a new release. The songs fit that sort of old zombie vibe… They are catchy, hard-rock tracks with nothing really new and exciting music-wise. But does that really matter when songs are catchy and fun to listen to? They are doing their thing and there really isn’t anyone else that has stepped up to keep this genre alive…
