Atrocity
Small Town Boy/Relax 2 Song Sampler
Napalm
8:57 - 2 Tracks
This is a little bit poppy/hard rock type stuff, but then has that black metal lite type of sound. almost a bit like Moonspell! The first track is Small Town Boy by Bronski Beat, and there’s a pretty cool cover of Duran Duran’s “Relax” on here too. You may hear this on the Mosh Pit.

Destructor
Forever In Leather
Auburn Records
47:18 - 11 Tracks
These old dudes are back… originally formed in 1985, they’ve been through a lot, but it’s now time to come back and thrash. The sound is thrashin’, although still classic, so all you 80’s heshers will dig this, but with this new wave of thrash out lately, the new fans will love it too. I think this is something that you’ll hear on the Mosh Pit, it’s fairly heavy, catchy and fun to listen to.

Heaven Shall Burn
Iconoclast Part 1: The Final Resistance
Century Media
58:19 - 14 Tracks
This is the new release from these guys, since their last album, we coined the term Brutal-Core, and these guys lean a lot more towards the brutal than the core.  The guitars get melodic occasionally, which I think might be the only “core” part of this.  I don’t think this can quite qualify as death metal, but it certainly is brutal, and even catchy in parts.  The dual guitar attack is very effective, and the vocals have just the right amount of abrasion, and of course the drumming is on par with everything else.  You’ll hear this on the Mosh Pit!

Lazarus
Episode One
Lazarus Holdings
32:21 - 6 Tracks
This is some classic hard-rock sounding stuff. The production is good, vocals are powerful, clean singy stuff. Songs are straightforward, nothing really that heavy. You may hear this on the Mosh Pit, but it’s a very tight week, so it may not make the cut.  This band is not to be confused with the Kenosha thrashers Lazarus.

Lion’s Share
Emotional Coma
Locomotive
45:39 - 11 Tracks
These guys have been around over 10 years, music is pretty straightforward metal, vocals sound simliar to Hansi from Blind Guardian, but not so annoying. The playing is top-notch, the songs are fairly catchy and makes you just want to air-guitar and air-drum and sing-a-long. Yeah! Classic metal! You may hear this on the Mosh Pit…

Novembre
The Blue
Peaceville
67:31 - 12 Tracks
This is kind of doomy, dark metal. It’s fairly melodic, with a lot of clean vocals, but then some black metal vocal screams all mixed in too. I’d have to say it’s pretty similar to Opeth. I’d have to say it’s a little less heavy than most of the Opeth stuff, so, yeah, take some Opeth, and their more melodic stuff, but mix in the heavy stuff, but not as much… Yeah, I suck at reviews. But you’ll probably hear this on the Mosh Pit!

Salt The Wound
Carnal Repercussions
Rotten Records
36:33 - 12 Tracks
This sounds like the new wave of American death metal.  It’s brutal, a bit technical, as in, there’s some cool stop start stuff, guitar work and well, all the music is pretty sick.  You’ll hear this on the Mosh Pit!

Satan’s Host
Great American Scapegoat
Moribund Cult
64:00 - 13 Tracks
Lots of good stuff has come from Moribund lately.  Of course, most of it is pretty out there and brutal and satanic and all that.  Now we here at the Mosh Pit don’t really care what religious beliefs each band preaches, as we’re more about the music and how it all comes together.  We do draw the line at most hate-core/white supremacist stuff.  So, yeah, I was expecting this CD to be all completely brutal and gurgly.   It’s actually some well produced black/thrash type stuff.  Melodic guitars… it’s actually the side project of a former member of Jag Panzer.  I’m guessing the band’s name and lyrics are more to do with subject matter of a story to tell, rather than preaching the word of Satan.  And like I said above, who cares!?

Winds Of Plague
Decimate The Weak
Century Media
36:55 - 10 Tracks
This, I guess could be classified as brutal-core, but it adds some euro-keyboard element.  It works very well.  It’s (keyboards just there enough to add accent to the already brutal, yet melodic death metal music.  Some of the guitar stuff is thrashy, but overall, just brutal and catchy.  You’ll hear this on the Mosh Pit!

Various Artists
Thrashing Like A Maniac
Earache
45:16 - 16 Tracks
This is a compilation of some of the best new thrash signed and un-signed.  This CD is of great importance as our friends in Lazarus (Kenosha) have a track on it!   Kind of weird to have two different cds in one week with a band called Lazarus.  This comp. is great as it is, just 16 tracks of classic sounding thrash, but to have one of our favorite local bands on it is a definite bonus.  You’ll hear this on the Mosh Pit!

Going for adds, but they are not available for me to check out!
