Dane Cook
Rough Around The Edges
Comedy Central
66:02 - 15 Tracks
A live CD from Dane Cook.  Why is this metal?  Because Comedy is metal!  Well, it is towards the end of the year and new releases kind of ease up, why not throw out a cool cd.  Dane Cook is funny, I don’t know if it’s because he’s about the same age as me?  But I think he’s just plain funny and you’ll hear parts of this on the Mosh Pit!

Vesania
Distractve Killusions
Napalm
43:04 - 9 Tracks
They are described as “Symphonic Black Metal”  Hrm, they do have some braniacs over there at Napalm records, because all of their promo CDs have that sort of description on it, and they are always spot on, no arguing here!  haha.  It’s more emphasis on the black, and not as much on the symphonic.  Obviously there are going to be comparisons to Dimmu Borgir, and while they aren’t clones, they have their own little style.

Nights Like These
Sunlight at Secondhand
Victory
41:31 - 10 Tracks
It’s hard to put my finger on this.  It’s kind of sludgey metal-core.  There, I guess I nailed it.  I should work for Victory Records, genre-izing their CDs like someone at Napalm does so well.  It seems a little experimental, but just kind of there.  Vocals are screamy distorted, music kind of plods along.  Due to not as much new stuff lately… You’ll hear this on the Mosh Pit!

Rosetta
Wake/Lift
Translation Loss
64:42 - 7 Tracks
This is along the lines of Isis, Neurosis and that other experimental post modern alternative metal.  It’s kind of good background music and normally not Mosh Pit material… but as I mentioned earlier, it’s a slow week!  hah.

Syrach
Days of Wrath
Napalm
64:28 - 8 Tracks
Napalm records says “Doom Metal”  Need I go on?  Oh, alright.  Yup, it’s doom metal, good old fashioned meat and potatoes doom.  Dark, gloomy, bit meaty riffs and sludgey heavy.   It gets going in some parts too and is cool to listen to.  You’ll hear this on the Mosh Pit!
