Amorphis
Silent Waters
Nuclear Blast
51:32 - 11 Tracks
First album with the new singer. I think this takes them back to the Elegy days… It’s got heavy parts, melodic parts, and has some songs with some death metal growls again! The older Amorphis is back, not The Doors throwback that they’d become. It’s worth checking out, and you’ll hear it on the Mosh Pit!

Aeon
Rise To Dominate
Metal Blade
45:08 - 12 Tracks
All out fast, heavy death/black metal here! They have a bit of a Vader / Slayer vibe, but of course more on the Vader side. Good technical black/death metal with some cool thrashy parts. Fans of the Mosh Pit will like this, so guess what… you know where to hear it!

A Live Once Lost
Iron Gag
Ferret
41:18 - 11 Tracks
I know we played their last CD a bit on the Mosh Pit, and I popped this new one in, and it just didn’t sound familiar. This sounds a bit more like a Zakk Wylde or that sort of heavy hard metal type thing… Well, it’s heavier than Black Label Society, I guess when I hear pinch harmonics, that’s what I think of. The deeper I get into this CD though, it’s more just a heavy metal disc, hard to compare to anything, it’s just meat and potatoes groove/heavy metal. You’ll hear this on the Mosh Pit!

Baroness
Red Album
Relapse
56:37 - 11 Tracks
This is kind of a jam-rock metal funk thing that’s kind of neat. However, their songs take a while to “get there,” if they get there at all. But when they do, they are a bit like Mastodon. I dunno, you’ll probably hear this on the Mosh Pit.

Shadowspeak
Shadowspeak
Obscure
33:44 - 8 Tracks
This sounds decent, kind of run of the mill hard rock stuff that another station in town likes to play a LOT. The guitar riffs are pretty cool, the playing and production is pretty good, but at this point in the world and Mosh Pit, this is just a maybe.

Every Time I Die
The Big Dirty
Ferret
36:15 - 12 Tracks
These guys have a really cool 80’s styled video for their new single… and this new CD is okay, it’s aggressive, heavy, kind of the meat and potatoes of metalcore these days. So there’s nothing really new and cool here. There are some catchy cool fun parts in some of the tracks. You’ll probably hear this on the Mosh Pit!

Trelldom
Til Minne…
Regain
39:09 - 8 Tracks
This features Gaahl of Gorgoroth. It’s got the whole old school black metal thing going… the not so great dynamic range, just evil sounding guitars and just plain raw. At first, I thought this was a re-issue, and then read further and saw it’s a new release, it’s THAT good of a throwback. We don’t have anything else new like this around, so you’ll hear this on the Mosh Pit!

Megadeth
That One Night
Image
43:28 - 11 Tracks (Disc 1)
55:01 - 11 Tracks (Disc 2)
This is from their huge show in Buenos Aires back in 2005. It’s Megadeth, what can you say? It’s cool, live and Dave still sounds like Cartman from South Park. The playing is solid and heavy, and it’ll be way cool to see them live again this month… You’ll hear this on the Mosh Pit.
