Ion Dissonance
Minus The Herd
Abacus
33:03 - 10 Tracks
New album from these guys, they have a mix of the Meshuggah sound, but without being so monotonous about it. Some songs are a bit more hardcore than others, but they are heavy, fast, technical, and yes, brutal. You’ll hear this on the Mosh Pit!

Holding On For Brighter Days
Relapse
40:06 - 10 Tracks
Female fronted hip-hop pop, rock fusion blah. I’ll pass on this. Listen to other shows on WORT and you might hear it!

The Clay People
Waking The Dead
Overit
52:29 - 15 Tracks
It’s been a long time since these guys came out with an album. They seem to have maintained their edge and catchiness after all these years. A mix of some Static X-ish metal and NINesque rock stuff, it doesn’t however stay all heavy catchy all the time. It’s not too bad, and if I don’t play it on the Mosh Pit, Ryan Parks will play it on Something Wonderful (Mondays from 8-11pm just before the Mosh Pit on WORT!).

The Cursed
Room Full of Sinners
Locomotive
37:17 - 11 Tracks
This is a bit of a fun-side type project featuring Bobby “Blitz” from Overkill and Dan Lorenzo formerly of Hades. It’s pretty straightforward hard rock/metal, with the unmistakable Blitz vocals and some definite blues influences too. It’s pretty sludgey sounding, as in raw or possibly low budget. Once into listening to it, that perception goes away and it’s just fun to listen to. It’s pretty cool though, right down to the Sax solo on track 2. You’ll hear this on the Mosh Pit!

Squealer A.D.
Confrontation Street
Locomotive
45:56 - 11 Tracks
This band has been around for a while, but only recently, since Grip Inc. is no longer, Gus Chambers is now behind the Mic. It’s cool power/thrash metal with, well, a similar sound to Grip Inc. And, frankly, we at the Mosh Pit like Grip Inc. The production is clean and crisp, it’s heavy, cool solos, playing vocals, everything.

Pelican
City of Echoes
Hydra Head
42:36 - 8 Tracks
Pretty neat, jammin’ instrumental stuff. I’d have to say, to start off with, it reminded me a bit of King’s X, and the rest of the album compares only to that in the vein of comparable heaviness, and technicality. It has some bits of stoner-metal sound and maybe something like Porcupine Tree, but getting kind of heavy and Clutch-like in parts too. It’s not too bad, maybe we’ll use it as our background music when we talk, or just play a song for you…

The Minor Times
Summer of Wolves
Prosthetic
41:28 - 11 Tracks
The first release from Prosthetic in a few months comes to us from this band. It’s pretty hard, hardcore, aggressive, metal, in your face type of stuff. Fast, grinding guitar, harsh abrasive vocals, cool breaks, and stuff. It’s not really anything groundbreaking, but it’s nothing that’s old and played out, it’s got its own sound and is truly metal. You’ll hear this on the Mosh Pit!

Spoiler NYC
Grease Fire In Hell’s Kitchen
SOS Records
34:24 - 12 Tracks
The claim to fame for this band, is the bass player and vocalist is Alan Robert, the long time bassist and co-founder of Life of Agony. This is pretty straightforward old school sounding punk/hardcore. At the Mosh Pit, we’re not really a punk show, but if we have some time, we have some Life of Agony fans that might want to check this out, so it may get a spin.

Susperia
Cut From Stone
Candlelight
47:15 - 11 Tracks
I’m not quite sure how to describe this, it’s heavy, aggressive, metal, actually it’s more just plain old thrash sounding. I was expecting this to be more Gothenburg sounding, but it’s more like Grip Inc, or just some modern heavy thrash stuff. So, yeah, sweet thrash, mixed and produced all nice. You’ll hear this on the Mosh Pit!
