Well, it’s officially back to the old grind again, a lot of new stuff this week, so tune into the Mosh Pit and enjoy all of this new stuff!!

Vinnie Paul’s new project with the Mudvayne guys and some former Nothingface dudes. It actually sounds like all of what you would think mixed together. Vinnie is solid behind the skins, nothing too fancy going on. It’s pretty straight-ahead new-ish metal. It’s not too bad and because it’s Vinny, of course you’ll hear it on the Mosh Pit.

This is a re-recording of some of their older tracks, since I don’t have the CD yet, it’s hard to do a write up.

Apparently the singer, Sabine Dünser, died after recording this, but before it came out. This release is typical in the line of female fronted metal. An occasional speedy thrash part in the music, mostly straightforward hard/rock euro-metal.

Like older Soilwork? You’ll like FMT! From Germany, they have that great melodic thrashy death sound going on. Production is crisp and the riffs are plentiful! It’s heavy, concise and I can’t say enough…. Tune into the Mosh Pit and hear them for yourself!

A lot of buzz around this band lately because it features new guitar virtuoso Gus G. It’s solid, fast prog-power metal. It doesn’t even get real cheesy like a lot of bands tend to do these days. While there is some cheese, which is inherent to this genre, it’s not laid on very thick. The songs are well produced, have some good riffage going on, catchy choruses and licks. You’ll hear this on the Mosh Pit!

Well, it’s nice to finally get some stuff from these guys. I read a lot about them, but to hear it is a different story. Some nice intense fast, yet melodic black metal. Black, thrashy and evil. Just the way this kind of metal should be. You will hear this on the Mosh Pit!

Drama Queen

I’m not sure why this fits in for Metal Radio…. but it does have some vocals reminiscent of System of a Down, the music kinda stays around the “nu-metal” vein, or more just plain hard rock.
Phazm
Antebellum Death ‘n Roll
Osmose
It’s a dual-disc CD/DVD that won’t play in my computer, so I can’t tell ya what it’s like!

Metal Blade
31:46 - 12 Tracks
It seems like Metal Blade has their answer to just about every genre of metal out there. These guys are the Hatebreed metal-hardcore band. This is their 2nd album, they are fast, heavy and it sounds good, just like it should these days! With such short songs, we should be able to squeeze some of this stuff on the air!
The End

Relapse Records
51:08 - 10 Tracks
These guys are a bit on the Tool side of metal. It’s a pretty mainstream approach for a Relapse band. It’s a little tool-like, a bit metal, a bit metalcore, a bit experimental (Isis/Neurosis), and it seems to work all well together. If there’s time, you’ll hear this on the Mosh Pit. I think it’s worth checking out.

A 3-song EP sampler from the mostly female fronted Norwegians. Two of the tracks keep it pretty heavy and sound like the heavier Lacuna Coil stuff you all know. It’s pretty good, a pretty even mix of male/female vocals with an occasional death metal growl section. You may hear this on the Mosh Pit!
